AI buzz, no mental model
Leaders had plenty of exposure to AI headlines, but no shared, working understanding of how the technology actually functions.
About the client
VideoCX.io is a video banking and customer experience platform built for BFSI institutions, founded and led by Rudrajeet Desai. As the company scaled, leadership across finance, sales, technology, legal, and product had plenty of exposure to AI headlines, but no shared, working understanding of how AI actually functions or where it could genuinely move their business. Rudrajeet brought Gyde in to close that gap for his leadership team in a single half-day session.
The Challenge
Leaders had plenty of exposure to AI headlines, but no shared, working understanding of how the technology actually functions.
Without common vocabulary (LLMs, SLMs, agents, evals) technical and business leaders were talking past each other on AI initiatives.
Without a shared baseline for AI capabilities, leaders had no reliable way to spot opportunities across their workflows.
Sales, finance, technology, and product were each thinking about AI in isolation, with no cross-functional forum to align.
How Gyde solved it
Prasanna Vaidya walked the room through the building blocks of AI in plain language, so every function (technical or not) left with the same reference points.
Once the group had a common understanding, the room shifted from training to active brainstorming. Participants described it as feeling less like a session and more like an open discussion about where AI fits in their business.
With a shared mental model in place, each function identified where AI could apply in their own work without needing further hand-holding.
The pattern behind the result
Once leaders understand what AI can and cannot do, spotting opportunities in their own business becomes fast and largely self-directed.
Putting finance, sales, technology, legal, and product in the same session produces opportunities that connect across functions.
Explaining concepts like quantization or evals in plain language is enough for leaders to reason clearly about AI, without needing to build it themselves.
In their words
It was one of the best Techno Business sessions I have been a part of in the last many years. Almost didn't feel like a session, but an open brainstorming meeting on everything AI. We learned how AI started, how it works, models, training, prediction, terms, what an SLM and an LLM are, how to use them, and most importantly, how to imagine building something in AI. It was an icebreaker, a start, and the first one of many to come.
Really enjoyed the session! What I liked most was how quickly we moved from understanding the basics of AI to actually thinking about where we could use it in our day-to-day work. It definitely helped cut through a lot of the AI buzz and gave us a much clearer understanding of what's possible and where it can genuinely add value.
I'm always eager to learn, upskill, and continuously push myself to grow. This was one of those sessions that did exactly that — packed with valuable insights, fresh perspectives, and plenty of practical takeaways.
