1. Set your custom action’s target object to Product, Asset, or Subscription.When a user selects your custom action, Salesforce CPQ opens a selection page for the chosen object.
2. Select Quote Line Editor or Configurator from the Page field.Your custom action appears on your selected location.
3. If you selected Quote Line Editor,your custom action appears by default at the top of the quote. Change its Location field to show it in a quote group or quote line.
4. Set the Type and Icon fields to customize how your custom action appears.
5. Create a search filter in the Search Filters related list. Salesforce CPQ filters available objects based on these parameters in the selection page you defined. For ex, you can define a filter that shows lines on your configurator page where the Product Name equals “Software.”
6. Select Default if you want Salesforce CPQ to activate this custom action when the user opens the quote. This process directs the user directly to the selection screen you defined in Step 1 rather than the quote line editor.
7. Create conditions for your custom action and associate them with the Conditions Met field. If your action contains conditions, Salesforce CPQ doesn’t show the action until your quote meets them.
8. If you have multiple custom actions, set their Display Order fields to determine where they appear in the UI. Salesforce CPQ orders custom actions from left to right, starting with values of 1.
9. Enter a description that appears when users hover over the custom action button.
